RTI Committee

    Right to Information Act, 2005 mandates timely response to citizens' requests for government information. It is an initiative taken by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel Affairs, Public Grievances, and Pensions to provide a- RTI Portal Gateway to the citizens for quick search of information on the details supplied by the Public Information Officer, First Appellate Authorities, etc. amongst others. It also provides access to RTI-related information/ disclosures published on the web by various Public Authorities under the government of India as well as the State Governments.

     The basic object of the Right to Information Act is to empower the citizens and promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government, or government-funded agencies. It reduces corruption and makes our democracy work for the people in a real sense. It equips citizens with a necessary vigil on the instruments of governance and makes the government more accountable to the governed. The Act is a major step taken by the government towards making the citizens informed about the activities of the Government by creating trust and worthiness in the various activities of the government.

    It is mandatory for every government institution to have an RTI cell to timely disburse and give information as and when the public requires through proper channel on the payment of fees according to RTI Act 2005. The following RTI committee is formed in this institution.
