     Sree Narayana College, Punalur, affiliated to the University of Keralais under the management of Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam founded by R. Shankar.The institution plays a pivotal role in building up the career of its wards through relentless academic and socially oriented extension activities. Named after the great seer and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru, the institution caters to the educational requirements of the poor and the downtrodden in the rural area. The institution has been one of the pioneering centre of Higher education among the aided colleges under the S.N.Trusts since 1965. The Secretary of the Trusts is the Manager of the college. Sri.Vellappally Natesan is the Manager of the college.

     Sri.Vellappally Natesan, was born in 1937 at Kanichukulangara near Cherthala. He was born as one of the 13 children of the Late Sri. Vellappally Kesavan Muthalali and Smt.Devaki Amma. He secured the post of General Secretary of SNDP Yogam, the post graced by the great poet Sri.Kumaranasan and Sri R.Sankar, the former Chief Minister of Kerala. He has played a pivotal role in bringing up the Ezhava community as a politically strong group in Kerala. He is also the Manager of the SN Trusts, Kollam, and the Managing Director of Vellappally Natesan and Company Ltd, one of the largest contracting companies in South India.
